The Syrian American Council
Syrian American Pros Hub is funded by the Syrian American Council — a nonprofit that has been organizing the Syrian American community for two decades.
Who they are
Founded in 2005, the Syrian American Council (SAC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that mobilizes Syrian Americans to shape U.S. policy toward Syria and to support the country's recovery. For over twenty years it has been one of the longest-running Syrian American organizing efforts in the United States.
SAC works on two fronts at once: giving the Syrian American diaspora a coordinated voice in American policymaking, and directing that community's expertise toward rebuilding Syria. In practice that means regular engagement with lawmakers on Capitol Hill, delegations to Syria, public briefings, and sustained involvement in transitional justice and reconstruction discussions.
The organization also runs a membership program, giving members policy briefings, invitations to delegations, and a say in which advocacy priorities SAC pursues.
